Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

The Hobby is a home for collectors — binders, sightings, trades, and card prices. This policy explains what information we collect and what we do with it, in plain language.

Information you give us

Camera

The card scanner uses your camera to identify cards. Scanning happens on your device — we don't keep your camera feed. If you choose to upload a card photo instead, it's used only to identify the card.

Location

We don't track your GPS or run in the background. The only location information we have is what you type yourself, like the store name on a sighting report.

Notifications

Alerts — like price-watch hits — land in your in-app inbox, not as push notifications. We don't store push subscriptions because we don't send push notifications.

What we don't do

How we protect it

Your data lives on secured cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare) and is only accessible to run the service. If there's ever a breach that affects you, we'll tell you.

Kids

The Hobby is built for collectors of all ages, but kids under 13 should only use it with a parent or guardian, who can contact us about their child's data any time.

Your control

Your binders, posts, and account are yours. You can edit or delete your content in the app, and you can ask us to delete your account and everything tied to it — just reach out through the app or the contact below and we'll take care of it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll note the new date at the top of this page.
