How to Find Decks You Can Build with the Cards You Own
Your bulk box is a deck waiting to happen. Here is how The Hobby turns your physical collection into playable, tournament-legal deck lists.
The problem
Most deck builders start from a blank list: you paste a meta deck, then go hunting through your own boxes to find out what you actually own. The Hobby flips that around — it starts from your collection and suggests decks you can build right now.
Step 1 — Get your cards into a binder
Open the Card Scanner and point your phone camera at a card, or add cards by search on the Prices page. Every card lands in your digital binder with its live TCGplayer market price attached, and your whole collection stays searchable on one shelf.
Step 2 — Open the Deck Builder
The Deck Builder supports Pokémon, One Piece, Lorcana, Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh, with per-game legality checks running as you build.
Step 3 — Tap “Suggest from my binders”
This is the smart part. The builder cross-references what is actually in your binders and brews a legal deck around your strongest cards, rounding it out with staple suggestions. It is a deck builder that cross-references your physical inventory — not a generic list generator.
Step 4 — See the shortfall, priced
If the suggested deck needs a few cards you do not own, they are flagged with live prices so you know the exact cost to finish it. The budget-swap finder can also hunt cheaper printings of your pricey cards and swap them in with one tap, and your deck's total value is tracked over time.
What else your collection unlocks
- Set completion: see which cards — and how much money — stand between you and a finished set.
- Trade matching: your binders are matched against other collectors' wants and open trade listings.
- Price watching: follow your cards' market prices and daily movers.
Free. No account needed to start — your binders live on your device.
